Our Board Member Bryan Irausquin

Bryan is a Tax Partner of EY Caribbean and works especially from the Curaçao and Aruba offices. He started his career with the international tax practice of Arthur Andersen in Rotterdam, the Netherlands, serving clients in the Energy & Utilities industry. In 2002 he joined EY in Rotterdam, serving clients in the Energy, Chemicals & Utilities industry, and in 2004 he returned to Curaçao, where he became Tax Partner in 2010 with responsibility for the jurisdictions of Aruba, BES islands (Bonaire, St Eustatius and Saba), Curaçao, St Maarten and Suriname. In 2015 Bryan became also the Country Managing Partner for the Dutch Caribbean and member of the Operating Committee of EY Caribbean.
Education: Master’s degree in Tax & Economics at the University of Tilburg, the Netherlands.
Bryan served and/or serves as: board member and president of the Curaçao International Financial Services Association (CIFA), Curaçao International Financial Center Foundation (CIFC), of which he was also the founder, Foundation Development Projects Logistical Sector (SLS), the Logistical Work Group of Kolaborativo, the Association of Tax Advisors (VAB), Curaçao Yacht Club, Curaçao Chamber of Commerce & Industry. Bryan is/was also an active member of the Curaçao Task Force Tax Treaties and Task Force Tax Reform and the Government Representative in the National Dialogue of Aruba in respect of Taxation. In these capacities Bryan has provided support to especially the Curaçao Directorate of Fiscal Affairs as from the year 2006 and has been involved in drafting many tax law proposals. As from 2016 Bryan also leads the policy initiatives for Investment Climate & Export for the Ministry of Economic Development.
Experience
Bryan has been actively involved in advising both Curaçao, St. Maarten, Bonaire, Saba, St. Eustatius, Aruba, Suriname and foreign multinational corporations in planning and structuring their business operations. In the context of his expertise, Bryan has been involved in amongst others projects, consultations and implementation of: international and national acquisition structuring, international and national finance structuring, international and national group restructuring/reorganization, international and national tax planning, estate planning, coordinating international tax work for several EY Global clients.
Given Bryan’s extensive contributions to not-for-profit organizations and Governments, Bryan has extensive experience with developing tax policies and public strategies in a public-private-partnership approach.
